The Queen is working on her allotment. She has heard a rumour that some kind of fruit or vegetable (she’s not sure which), under a large pile of mattresses, will reveal a “true” princess for her dopey son. Of course the fresh produce need to be full and firm, to withstand such pressure, and what better way to discover the perfect specimen and trick them under all those mattresses than for the Queen to hold a Grand Talent Competition.

The carrot family and the rock ‘n rolling raspberry are thrilled to be contestants but will the sparkling Peggy the pea be so gullible?

Eggy is a lot smarter than Humpty Dumpty. He has big plans for when he falls off the wall and has made sure a frying pan will catch him. The fruit and veg  are more than happy to join him in his passion for cooking but can he rescue them from the Queen… or will he be too late?

“Amy’s disarming charm and oddball humour totally captivated the inner child of every adult in the packed theatre”
Chris Pirie, Director of Green Ginger & Bristol Festival Of Puppetry 2011

“After giggling throughout a performance I was determined to book the brilliant When Eggy Met Peggy for the Electric Palace”

Shadow Puppets

Tallulah is also proud to present a New Shadow Puppet Show, with vocals and live music from professional story teller, Martin Maudsley. Funded by Find Your Talent, we have so far toured primary schools in North Somerset, performing a tale from the Arabian Nights "The Fisherman and The Genie", followed by a marvellous puppet making and storytelling workshop called "Storytelling with Shadow Puppets: Turning Stories Into Images and Images Into Stories"

The show was performed as a stand alone piece at River Cottage Autumn Fayre 2010.
Next stop for show/workshop is Blaise Primary School in November.

Teacher Feedback from Hannah Moore Infant School, North Somerset:

"We've had two absolutely fantastic, wonderfully creative days. The children who I thought would be shy came out of their shells completely" Paula Barrat

"The structure of the two days was brilliant. The children really knew the characters in their heads when creating the stories...The children were very motivated and the resources were fantastic" Vicky, teaching assistant

Teacher Feedback from Kingshill C of E Primary, North Somerset:

"Thankyou for a fantastic day of shadow puppeteering! The children in my Reception class had such fun and learnt so much too. They responded really well to your puppet show and had fantastic ideas for their own characters and stories. The orginization of the day worked very well, with the children seeing and discussing puppets and props, then brainstorming ideas, then making puppets and scenes and finally performing to their parents. All the adults were amazed at the creativity the day generated. Hope to see you again next year."
Ali Yandall

"We had a great day and Year 1 are making paper bag puppets, which is a direct result of the day. The children loved preparing their shows and performing them to their families."
Sue Mitchell

Teacher Feedback from Brunel Site, Ashley Down Primary, Bristol:

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! What a wonderful day. Year 1 had a really fantastic day and they have learnt so much about puppet making and story telling (me too)! Thank you for spending the day with us and sharing your amazing skills, it was so much fun!"
